Avensia Presents Omnichannel Retail 2015

Last year, Avensia conducted a study in Sweden to see how far a few companies had come in their omnichannel ventures. This June, a Scandinavian study was presented by Avensia in cooperation with Yougov, where they have mapped 30 of the largest retailers and their ventures in omnichannel in the respective country. Sweden had the best results in Scandinavia, followed by Denmark.

The study was 16 questions with yes and now answers, and was conducted during a couple of months this spring. This year, the results were stronger, last year no one was truly omnichannel ready, but three companies were this year – Intersport in Denmark and Sweden, as well as SIBA in Sweden.

Almost omnichannel ready is Lindex and Clas Ohlson, followed by IKEA, Panduro, and Hemtex. Among the Swedish companies in the study in the fashion industry, Lindex tops the charts.

Some of the questions were:

  • Is it possible to see stock from B&M stores online?
  • Is it possible to order online and return the product in B&M store?
  • Can you get access to information about products from B&M by mobile? Example QR codes for online reviews.
  • Is a product that has been put in the shopping basket on a mobile device still there when using the same account on a laptop or other device?
  • Can your customers use their loyalty points when shopping online?
  • Are there any incentives when buying online and pick up in store? Example free shipment.
