During a few days in March, we who work as Business Developers at 3bits visited Shoptalk in Las Vegas. Shoptalk is a gigantic conference for retail held every year in the US. Some of the keynote speakers work at Amazon, Dollar Shave Club, GAP, and Macy’s.
As we have written before, we at 3bits offer a new service called Advanced Data Analysis, where we help companies dig into their customer and sales data. The purpose of the service is to provide new insights about the company’s products, customers, and campaigns that can later be a foundation for data driven decisions.
In a snow chaos in November, Episerver managed to hold their event, Episerver Ascend in Ericsson Globe with participants from all over the world, even though the event had a focus on the Nordics. The sessions contained experiences from different projects and partners, how to work, and Episerver Digital Experience Cloud (DXC).
Microservices is an architectonic concept that unlike the classical way to build a large-scale application that does it all, instead uses small components that does parts of a larger process. Microservices is in the center of events right now, and it was noticable at O’Reilly Software Architecture Conference in London.
A lot of exiting ideas where presented at Global e-Commerce Summit in Barcelona in May, where new technology has been used to make the shopping experience better for customers in the fashion industry. Technologies with advanced and fast image processing, large touch screens, and VR was presented a nice and considered concept in form of interactive “mirrors”.
During Global e-Commerce Summit in Barcelona, we had a few days in June. Filled with exiting and interesting new lessons. It is always rewarding to hear about ground breaking ideas and niches that well performed build great successful companies.
At 3bits we work with several exiting B2B projects that use the digital advantages as a modern B2B site can offer. Every business has its own specific demands, no advance web and e-commerce solutions are standard. But several smart functions can be adapted and used in totally different areas.
In May I attended e-commerce Stockholm and listened when Pär Svärdsson, CEO, at Apotea, and Anton Jacobsson, CEO at Babyland talked about their recipe to success. We have written about the crucial final mile, before, they talk about transport approach with bouncy steps.
On January 28 it was time for a Day of e-commerce in Gothenburg, Webbhuset hosted Magentodagen 2016 at Hotel Post. An interesting day with inspiring speakers in different areas.
When it comes to decisions in e-commerce, you should always make these based on data and not gut, since there are powerful tools today, there is no reason to guess or just go with the gut.
